Sketchup

SketchUp is a 3D modelling programme. It was originally developed by Google then sold to another company but part of the sale agreement was that there would always be a free version for Sketchup available. Online you can use the Personal version for free; or you can download Sketchup Make to use for free offline.
You can use it to create a 3D model or entire 3D world! The only limitation is your imagination and time. Try creating a simply object mentioned in your book. Or use some 3D models which other users have created to re-create a 3D version of a scene from your book.

How do I share my creation to The Living Library?

  • Design your model
  • Download your model
  • Upload your model to your Sketchfab account
  • Once your model has been added to Sketchfab, copy the link and paste it into the book on The Living Library.
  • Your model will be embedded into the book so you can move it around

Using an extension:

To simplify the process there is also an extension which you can install (‘SketchUp to Sketchfab.com Uploader’) https://sketchfab.com/exporters/sketchup Install the extension from the Extension Warehouse in the Window menu Once installed you can upload your models directly from Sketchup to Sketchfab Once your model has been added to Sketchfab, copy the link and paste it into the book on The Living Library. Your model will be embedded into the book so you can move it around
