Introduction

Fileas Fogg has to overcome the challenge of long distances and the use of limited means of transport in order to win the bet of travelling around the world in just 80 days. Obstacles  appear on the way and he needs to deal with them.  Let's try by implementing augmented reality to make the book even more interesting.

Process

After reading through the book with the pupils once they are provided with a map illustrating the journey of Fileas Fogg.  Following the study of the map we created a table showing the different places he visited the means of transport he used and the amount of days he needed.

Then pupils were devided in to groups of four and each group had a card which gave the description of a specific means of transport either throygh text or picture as  it was found in the book. Based on that they had to search using their tablets and find even more information for the specific means of transport. Following teir findings the had to prepare their own creative text presenting the means of transport  and present it to everybody else using the Padlet application.

Following that during their Art lesson based on the text they wrote and by using their imagination they had the chance to create their 3D means of transport using several textures. When they finished they took photos using the tablets and again through the use of Padlet they created a second wall presentin their unique means of transport.

Both Padlet walls were used for enhancing augmented reality in the book.
