Introduction

Previous knowledge:

Pupils have already been familiarized in previous lessons with names of animals, their homes, descriptive words.

Process

Activities:

1. Teacher asks pupils to give examples of sea animals and he/she explains the difficult words. Teacher reads loud some short descriptions of sea animals and pupils try to guess the animal (from the book Fairyland, Pupils` book).

2. Teacher asks what can harm sea animals and write the suggestions in word web (oil, cars, plants, chemicals, fishing, cans, bottles, rubbish etc.)Teacher plays a film on YouTube on 10 Most Endangered Ocean Species and Marine Animals and help pupils understand the texts in English.

3. Group Work Pupils work on a specific task in groups. Then, they rotate so that every group can do an activity using an ICT application and a creative writing activity).

Group A: Pupils create a penguin figure using Legos. Then, they try to enliven it using the Pic Collage app (take a photo and, using the app`s features, they try to make it look alive and write an S.O.S. message in a bubble). Pupils act the penguin`s role and read loud the messages.

Group B: Pupils receive a Quiver colouring page with 2 dolphins-the smallest dolphins in the world living in New Zealand- and listen to the text from the page (from Quiver apps for AR). Then, pupils have to write a short description of a dolphin with some given words. After that, pupils try to enliven the colouring page using the Quiver app.

Group C: Pupils have to write rules for protecting life in seas and oceans. Then, they try to create a poster with these rules and suggestive pictures using HP Reveal (Aurasma) app.

Group D: Pupils have to help an animal find a home by imagining and writing its own message. Then, pupils can act and record the message using the recording function.
